Championship
Policies and Procedures
1.
Eligibility
To be eligible to enter a FWSGA
competition (other than the
Junior Girls Championship, which
has its own set of eligibility
requirements,) an applicant
shall:
a.) have
been born female
b.) be an
amateur golfer
c.) be a
resident of Florida for at least
4 months or otherwise have
established legal
residency, or be on active
military duty in Florida
d.) have
a valid USGA Handicap Index of
34.0 or less
e.) be an
Individual Member of FWSGA for
the current year
f.)
meet the specific eligibility
requirements of the tournament
involved.
2.
Championship Entry
Procedures
a) Entry Forms
i) Entry forms for
all Championships are included
in the Yearbook and may be
reproduces.
ii) Entry forms are
also available on the FWSGA
website,
www.fwsga.org and may be
downloaded.
iii) On-line entries
are available. Go to
www.fwsga.org and follow
entry procedure.
b) Entry Open Dates –
March 1st 2007 for
all Championships.
c) Entry Closing Dates
i) Closing dates are
includes on each tournament
detail report in the Yearbook
and also on FWSGA website.
ii) No entries will be accepted
after the closing date. All
entries must be received at the
FWSGA office or completed online
prior to 5:00 PM on the deadline
date indicated. Entries will not
be accepted unless they are
accompanied by a correctly
complete entry form and the
correct entry fee (check or
money order, no cash please).
d) Entry Priority –
Complete entries (whether
online, mailed or otherwise)
will be accepted based on order
of receipt.
i) If on any day,
more entries are received than
spaces available, a lottery will
be held to fill the remaining
places in the field. The entries
not selected in the lottery will
be placed on a waiting list in
order of the draw.
ii) In the event a
player is wait listed and not
selected to participate, the
full entry fee will be refunded
after the completion of the
event.
e) Entry Confirmation
i) When entry has
been received, notification will
be sent by e-mail. (For a team
entry, only one member will be
notified.)
f) Entry Acceptance
i) Acceptance
letters will be e-mailed to all
participants.
ii) Letters will
include information on schedule
of events, practice round, host
hotels,
and registration.
g) Handicap Verification
i) All handicap
indexes will be verified on the
closing date of the
Championship.
ii) A player will be
ineligible to play if their
handicap index cannot be
verified.
h) Cancellation Policy
i) Notification of
cancellation by e-mail will be
accepted up to 48 hours prior to
the start of competition. Only
phone communication will be
accepted for cancellations from
48 hours to the start of
competition.
ii) Prior to the
entry deadline, a $20 per person
Administration fee will be
charged.
iii) After the entry deadline
and up to 48 hours before the
start of the competition, a 50%
refund will be given.
iv) No refund will be given from
48 hours prior to start of play.

Championship Policies
a) Player Default or
Withdrawal from Competition
i) If the
Committee finds the reason for
withdrawal unacceptable, the
player shall not be
eligible to play the following
year and shall forfeit any
prizes won.
ii) The Committee shall notify
the contestant and not the
Executive Director, so that the
incident is filed in the FWSGA
Office.
b) Caddies
i) No
personal caddies are allowed.
ii) Players
will be required to use
motorized carts.
c) Electronic
Devices
i) The
use of Electronic
Devices will be allowed in all
FWSGA Competitions except the
Junior Girls Championship.
ii) Electronic Devices such as
cell phones or pagers are
prohibited anytime during play
unless there is an emergency
situation.
d) Attire
i) Appropriate
golf attire, in accordance with
the host club dress code is
required.
ii) Denim
is not permitted at any time.
e)
Spectators
i)
Spectators must remain
clear of play and refrain from
conversing with competitors.
ii) The player shall be held
responsible for any infraction
of Rule 8 (Advice).
iii) Carts for spectators are
available only at the discretion
of The Committee and in
accordance with host club
policy.
j) Tie
Breaking Procedures
i) A hole by hole playoff
for the Overall Champion will be
played.
ii)
All other ties will be
treated equally and the prize
payout will be shared. i.e. – 3
way tie for 2nd will
share 2nd, 3rd,
and 4th place prize.
4)
Player Risk
Players who compete in FWSGA
competitions do so at their own
risk. The Board, the Association
and its representatives shall be
relieved individually and
collectively of all
responsibility for any damage or
injury incurred during such
tournaments.
