Wilson and Golden Win Four-Ball Championship

 

Janice Roberts-Wilson and Wendi Patterson-Golden shot a 66-69-135 to capture the 17th Four-Ball Stroke Play Championship at World Golf Village – Slammer & Squire in St. Augustine.

Janice Roberts-Wilson of Plantation and Wendi Patterson-Golden from Bradenton started off day one with a 3 shot lead and sealed their victory day two with a 3-under par 69 to win by 6 shots.

In the Championship Tees Second Flight, Leslie Smith and Shirley Trier both from Jacksonville tied for first with Sisi Hedges of Mulberry and Suzy Strock of St. Augustine with a 147. In the Field Tees First Flight, Shirley Budden and Peggy Widicus both of Ponte Vedra Beach won with a score of 71-73-144. Christine Brindle and Linda Taylor won the Field Tees Second Flight, with a 82-76-158. Shelly Dickerson of Ponte Vedra Beach and Jo Geeslin of Atlantic Beach won the Field Tees Third Flight with an 84-79-163. Lastly, in the Field Tees Fourth Flight, Judy Furlotte and Lynn Watrous both of Palm Beach Gardens won with a score of 94-85-179. The flights were flighted according to the players round one scores. Two different sets of tees were used in competing in the championship.
