Lang and Ritter Win
Mixed Team Championship
 Diane Lang and Doug Ritter
shot a combined total of 15-under par to win the FWSGA Summer Mixed Team
Championship. The Club at TwinEagles, Naples hosted the Championship June
2-3, 2007.
After the first day of
four-ball stroke play, Lang, of Weston and Ritter of Davie shot a 4-under
par 68 to take a one shot lead over Nancy Smith, North Port and Jeff
Hiestand, Naples. In the final round Lang & Ritter pulled away from the
rest of the field shooting a final round of 11-under par 61 and an overall
score of 121 to win by nine shots. This is the 3rd Summer Mixed
Team title for the duo. Smith and Hiestand shot a 69-72-141 to tie for
second place with Lee and Stuart Meyers of Fort Meyers shooting 71-70-141.
In the second flight, Carolina and Roy Hart, of Juno Beach, won the flight
after shooting a 75-70-145. The third flight featured Kathy and Edward
Light, of Ormond Beach, and Terri and Alan Katz, Boca Raton both shooting
81-76-157 to tie for first place. In the fourth flight Carol and Don Besman,
of Wellington, shot a 90-79-169 to tie for first in their flight with Judy
Conwell and Jack Helm with a 87-82-169. The teams were flighted based upon
their first round score.
