Halpin Captures Amateur In Sudden Death

 

Page Halpin, of Osprey, shot 69-72-71-212 to win the 13th FWSGA Stroke Play Championship in a sudden death playoff over 2006 Amateur Winner Sharla Cloutier of Niceville.  Both players made par on the difficult first hole to continue on to the second hole of sudden death.  Halpin secured her victory on the second hole by chipping in for eagle on the par 5.  This is Halpin's second FWSGA title with her first coming in 1980 at the FWSGA Junior Girls' Championship.  Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club, Dade City hosted the 2007 event.    

 

In the second flight Tovie St. Louis, of Royal Palm Beach, shot 77-76-77-229 to win the flight.  The third flight was won by Courtney Figueroa, Naples shooting 78-80-72-230.  Ryan Ashburn, of Seminole won the fourth flight with a 82-82-72-236.  The fifth flight was won by Susie Fonde of Jacksonville shooting 83-83-79-245.  Susan Rampelberg, of Ponte Vedra Beach won the sixth flight with a 87-84-85-256.  The seventh flight was won by Jennifer So, Longwood shooting 94-85-81-260. 

 

In the Net Division Bai Zhu, Titusville captured the title with a 64-74-76-214.  Zhu shot a first round of 64 to take the lead and never looked back winning the championship by 4 shots.  In the second flight net Mary Lou Edwards, Palm Harbor captured the flight shooting 78-81-71-233.  The flights were flighted based upon their 36 hole total.  Complete Results
