FWSGA Announces SWATCA Team

The Florida Women’s State Golf Association has announced the team that will participate in the 15th Southeastern Women’s Amateur Team Championship on November 4-8, 2007 at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club in Dade City, FL. SWATCA invited teams from Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, North Carolina and Tennessee to compete this year. The winner is determined by the team earning the highest number of points at the end of 3 rounds. The rounds are a four-ball match play, a foursome match play, and a singles match played over the three days. A match win is one point while a tie earns ½ point to each side. Each day’s matches are drawn the night before in a blind draw among the states and teams. Eight players from each team compete in a round. One player is selected by the captain to sit out each round.
 

Captain Sarah Phillips team will consist of: Mary Jane Hiestand of Naples, Diane Lang of Weston, Taffy Brower of Boynton Beach, Nancy Smith of North Port, Janice Roberts-Wilson of Plantation, Sisi Hedges of Mulberry, Wendi Patterson-Golden of Bradenton, Ann Pohira of Winter Park, and Suzy Strock of St. Augustine.
