FWSGA Tournaments For Every Level

The FWSGA has made some changes to some of our events to serve every level of player.  In 2007 you will see the following changes to our events.

Stroke Play/Senior Championship.  In 2007 you will now be able to choose whether you want to play in the Gross Division or in the Net Division in both the Amateur Stroke Play Championship and the Senior Championship.  By choosing to play in the Gross Division you have made the decision to play a yardage of approximately 5500-5900 yards and by choosing the Net Division you have made the decision to play approximately 5000-5400 yards.  Any handicap level may choose to play in either division and you must decide which division you would like to play in on or before the entry deadline.  We will be awarding both an Overall Gross Winner and an Overall Net Winner.

4-Ball Stroke Play.  In 2007 we have changed the handicap cutoff in the 4-Ball Stroke Play.  Teams with a combined USGA Handicap Index of 10.0 or lower will play from the Championship Tees and will be eligible to compete for the Championship Title (5500-5900 yards).  Teams with a combined USGA Handicap Index greater than 10.0 will play from the Field Tees and will be eligible to compete for Flight Awards (5000-5400 yards).  Any team with a combined Handicap Index greater than 10.0 may opt to play from the Championship Tees.

The FWSGA encourages all levels of players to come out and participate in our events.  We have some great venues, two different sets of yardages, and flights where competitions will be level.  It is our hope that these changes will get every member out on the course this year.
