MookSang and Italiano Win 4-Ball Championship

 

 

Debbie Mook Sang and Terrell Italiano shot a 69-70-139 to capture the 16th Florida Women's State Golf Association  Four-Ball Stroke Play Championship at Golden Ocala Golf and Equestrian Club in Ocala.

 

Mook Sang, of Valrico, and Italiano, from Tampa, began the day tied for the lead with Mary Jane Hiestand and Julie Garner both shooting 3-under par 69.  In the second round the duo made the turn shooting even par  36 on the front nine and then finishing the day at 2-under par 70. Mary Jane Hiestand, Naples and Julie Garner, Winter Park finished 5 shots back with 69-75-144. 

 

In the second flight Janice Robert Wilson, of Plantation, and Veronica Johnson, of Sarasota won the flight after shooting 80-74-154.  Chris Wood and Carolyn Amos won the Field Tees first flight with a 79-75-154.  The Field Tees second flight featured a two way tie for first with Jeannette Sullivan of Miami and Judy Schafers of Sun City Center, and Ruby Felix and Pat Bethune of Tampa both shooting 177 for the championship.  Pat Sessa of Pompano Beach and Joyce Augusta, of Boca Raton, won their flight by two shots shooting 96-96-192.  The flights were flighted according to the players round one scores. Two different sets of tees were used while competing in the championship.
