Sharla Cloutier Sweeps Stroke Play Championship

 

Sharla Cloutier, of Niceville, shot 72-69-73-214 to win the 12th Florida Women's State Golf Association Stroke Play Championship at The President Country Club, West Palm Beach.  Cloutier, a senior at Princeton lead the championship from the start shooting an even par 72 in the first round.  Sharla gained an even bigger lead day two with a three-under par round of 69.  In the final round Cloutier secured her victory by shooting a one-over par round of 73 to win the championship by 10 shots.  

 

The first flight featured a three way tie for first with Susan Cohn, of West Palm Beach, Diane Lang, of Weston and Gennifer Mendez of North Port all shooting 224 for the championship.  In the second flight Kelly Calkin, of Palm Coast, shot 75-84-70-229 to win the flight.  The third flight was won by Victoria Kiser shooting 82-81-67-230.  Chris Epperly, of Lady Lake won the fourth flight with a 82-83-78-243.  The fifth flight was won by Jan Stottlemeyer of Tequesta shooting 80-89-82-251.  The sixth flight featured a tie for first with Cissy Travis, of Palm Beach Gardens, and Carine Bauer of Lakeland both shooting 244 and Dean Laferriere won the seventh flight shooting 100-92-92-284.  The flights were flighted based upon their 36 hole total.  Complete Results
