Lang Wins Senior Championship
Diane Lang, of Weston, shot
74-71-69-214 to win the 15th
Florida Women’s State Golf
Association Senior Championship
at Weston Hills Country Club, in
Weston. Familiar to the Weston
Hills territory, Lang, from the
start shot 74 making her 1st
round the lowest out of all the
contestants. Diane gained an
even bigger lead day two with a
one-under par round of 71. In
the final round, Lang secured
her victory by shooting an
impressive three-under par round
of 69 to win the Senior
championship by 22 shots.
In the
championship second flight
Catherine Richey of Winter Park,
won by shooting a 87-87-80-258.
In the field third flight, Rita
Quackenbush of Ft. Myers, shot a
86-80-92-258 to win this flight.
And lastly, Diane Giordano of
Lake Pack, shot a 99-95-101-295
to win the field fourth flight
at the Senior Championship. The
flights were flighted based upon
their 36 hole total for the 54
hole championship.
