FWSGA Hires 2006 Boatwright Intern

The Florida Women’s State Golf Association just added intern Alexis M. Esquia to their current staff. She is a senior at Saint Leo University majoring in Sport Management and was the Most Valuable Player on the Women’s Golf Team from 2002-2005. She is born and raised in Tampa and is a member at Tampa Palms Golf & Country Club. Alexis is expected to graduate in May.

Alexis will be assisting with all areas of golf administration including tournament administration, memberships, and communication. She will work under the Executive Director Kelly Tarala in the Tampa based office. Alexis’ intern position was made possible under the USGA P.J. Boatwright internship program. This program is designed to give experience to individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in golf administration, while assisting state and regional golf association, as well as non-profit organizations dedicated to the promotion of amateur golf, on a short-term entry level basis.
