Chris Epperly of Lady Lake
defeated Patsy Ehret of Stuart
on the 19th hole to capture the
2005 Senior Match Play
Championship held at Bear Lakes
Country Club September 18-22.
Epperly put on a strong come
back after being down 2 after
nine holes in the rain soaked
final.
Ehret defeated the 2004 and 2005
medalist Ann Fulginiti 3 & 2 in
the semifinal
round Wednesday afternoon to
advance in the championship
flight and Epperly downed Joyce
Martin of Boca Raton 1up to
claim the remaining finals slot.
Meredith Wolf of Wellington and
Susan Rampelberg of Ponte Vedra
Beach faced off in consolation
play of the championship flight,
with Rampelberg emerging as the
winner 7 & 6.
The tournament, hosted at Bear
Lakes Country Club, began Monday
with a championship qualifying
round and closed Thursday with
final and consolation play for
the championship and four
flights. Ann Fulginiti of
Plantation, carded a 75 for
medalist honors.
