Vicky Hurst Captures Junior Girls' Championship

 

Vicky Hurst, of Melbourne, shot a 2-under par 144 to win the 46th Florida Women's State Golf Association Junior Girls' Championship at Lake Buena Vista Golf Club in Orlando.

 

Hurst captures the prestigious Championship by shooting a steady even par round of 73 in the final round to win the rain soaked championship by one shot.  2004 Champion Jacqui Concolino finished second with a 36 hole total of 73-72-145 along with Jessica Yadloczky, Casselberry 71-74-145.

 

In the 13-15 division, Erica Popson, of Davenport carded a 70-72-142 4-under par to win the division by four shots.  Andrea Messer of  Belleaire finished second with a 146.  Alexandra Perez, of Miami captured the 10-12 division after shooting a 39-41-80 to win by one shot.  The 6-9 division was won by Lauren Gros of Gainesville.  Lauren shot a 42-48-90 to win the division by 18 shots.
