Diane Lang and Doug Ritter Capture FSGA/FWSGA Mixed Team Championship

 

Diane Lang and Doug Ritter of Weston captured the FSGA/FWSGA Mixed Team Championship.  Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge hosted the Championship November 19-20, 2005. 

 

 After the first day of four-ball stroke play, Lang and Ritter led the field with a three-under par 69 on the Crooked Cat Course.  One shot back were Taffy and Buzz Brower, Boynton Beach, and Jay and Kathleen Koerber, Palm City.  The final day consisted of 18 holes of modified alternate shot.  Lang and Ritter shot a three-under par 69 to capture the event by three shots over Karen Greenway and Morgan bays 72-69-141.

 

In the second flight, Kalani and Dom Meffe, Windermere, won the flight after shooting 72-73-145.  The third flight featured Chris and Jim Brindle, of Orange Park, winning after they shot a 79-81-160.  In the fourth flight Susie Thore and Bob Beattie, of The Villages, shot 85-79-164 to place first in their flight.  The teams were flighted based on the combined team handicap index.
