Natalia Nicholls Wins 10th Stroke Play Championship

 

Natalia Nicholls, of Key Biscayne, shot 74-73-75-222 to win the 10th Florida Women's State Golf Association Stroke Play Championship at The Country Club of Ocala in Ocala.  Nicholls, a sophomore at the University of Georgia lead the championship all week nudging out a late charge from Jessica Castle of Plantation by one shot.  Castle posted the only sub par round of the championship shooting a 71 in the final round of the championship.  

 

In the second flight Tama Caldabaugh, of Ponte Vedra Beach, shot 80-84-76-240 to win the flight by two shots.  The third flight featured a two way tie for first with Cathy Richey, of Orlando, and Amanda Pettit, of Hypoluxo both shooting 251 for the championship.  Richey took first place honors by winning the scorecard playoff.  Erika Danford, of Lake Wales won the fourth flight with a 84-84-86-254.  The fifth flight was won by Holly Ann Goodman of Vero Beach 85-86-84-255.  In the sixth flight Christine Brindle, Orange Park won her flight by three shots shooting 93-92-96-281 and Pixie Kloiber won the seventh flight shooting 96-98-94.  The flights were flighted according to handicap index.  Complete Results
