FWSGA Names Inaugural Players-of-the-Year

 

The Florida Women's State Golf Association awarded their Inaugural Players-of-the-Year at a joint Champions Dinner with the Florida State Golf Association and Florida Junior Tour.  The dinner was held at Interlachen Country Club in Winter Park on Friday, November 12th.  Taffy Brower and Jacqui Concolino were each named the Player-of-the-Year in their respective divisions.   

 

The 2004 FWSGA Player-of-the-Year was awarded to Taffy Brower, of Boynton Beach.  Taffy has won many Championships including this year's Four-Ball Stroke Play with Mary Ann Pluckett. In previous years, she has won the State Match Play Championship four times and twice is the State Stroke Play Champion. Taffy has been selected to represent Florida in the USGA State Team Championships four times. She has qualified for the US Women’s Amateur, Mid-Amateur and Senior Amateur numerous times where she was Mid-Am Medalist in 2002 and Senior Quarter-finalist 1999 & 2001. This year, Taffy was the first woman to win both the Southern Senior and Southern Amateur Championships in the same year.

 

Jacqui Concolino, from Orlando, wins the FWSGA Junior Player-of-the-Year award following a great year. She won the FWSGA Junior Girls Championship and advanced to the US Girls Junior Championship. Jacqui won her district and went on to place second in the Class 1A State High School Championships. She also plays on the Florida Junior Tour where she won the Grand Cypress event.
