Nancy Smith Claims North South Senior Championship

Pinehurst North Carolina- Florida Women’s State Golf Association member Nancy Smith won the North South Senior Championship at Pinehurst Country Club August 10-12.  Smith who is from North Port, Fl picked up her fourth North South Championship title in six years with a three day total of 69-70-70—209 to win the championship by 12 shots.  Smith just recently competed in the Florida/Georgia Team Matches where Florida reclaimed the title at Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto.  Other notables in the North South Senior Championship for the Florida Women’s State Golf Association was Chris Epperly who finished tied for third with a 75-72-77—224 three day total.  2003 FWSGA Senior Match Play Champion Shirley Budden finished seventh at 227.  Carole Ratcliffe, Barbara Magie, Ronnie Hall, and Meredith Wolf rounded out the FWSGA. members competing in the three day event.  The three day event was played over three different Pinehurst Courses, Pinehurst 8,4, and 5.
