The Florida Women's State Golf
Association is an organization
of individual members and golf
clubs throughout the state. It
is governed by a Board of
Directors, comprised of a
dedicated group of 20 women (all
volunteers) who conduct
tournaments and offer
golf-related services for the
benefit of its members. In 1997,
a permanent office address and
an Executive Director were
added.
Organized in 1927, the
FWSGA's purpose is to "develop,
prom ote, maintain and protect
the game of golf among Florida's
women amateur golfers."
Our
goal is to reach all female
amateur golfers in Florida and
to enlist their support in the FWSGA. While we hope that all of
our members are interested in
competing in our tournaments,
that is not a criteria to join
FWSGA.
If you are currently playing
golf on any level or simply have
an interest in golf, we
encourage you to support women
amateur golfers in Florida by
joining our association.
Support the FWSGA in other ways
like becoming a Club
Representative. We are always
looking for new Club
Representatives in every
District. As
a Club Representative, you
are able to receive the
following: updates on FWSGA
tournaments in your area,
information on membership,
e-mail newsletters specifically
sent to club representatives
only, general information on
women’s amateur golf in Florida,
and Junior Girls
Scholarship/Penny-A-Stroke.
Interested? It's simple! To
become a Club Representative,
fill out a "Update
Us Form" and mail
it to the FWSGA office.
The
Florida Women's Golf Association
divides the State of Florida
into Districts. Check out the
DISTRICT
MAP to see what
District you are in! This
information is important because
we require it on the membership
application. |
